2012 at Defiance: Recorded indoor team-best marks in the 60 and 200-meter dashes, pole vault and 4x400-meter relay … Height in the pole vault (4.66 meters) and time in the 4x400-meter relay (3:27.23) both set indoor Yellow Jacket records … Earned Honorable Mention All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors for indoor competition … Named HCAC Athlete to Watch for both indoor and outdoor seasons.

MANCHESTER, Ind. – Senior thrower Tom Postema put on a jaw-dropping spectacle on Friday, April 26 at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. The Defiance, Ohio, native tossed a first-place distance of 65.80 meters (215.88 ft.) in the hammer throw that established the third-best mark in National Collegiate Athletic Association Div. III history.
DELAWARE, Ohio – The All-Ohio Championships brought out the best in many of the athletes on DC’s men’s track and field team on Saturday, April 13. Leading the way for the Purple and Gold were senior Tom Postema, junior Joe Davis and sophomore Troy Parrett.
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Defiance College men’s track and field team traveled north on Saturday, April 6 to get there last competition in before the big All-Ohio Outdoor Track and Field Championships next weekend. Senior Tom Postema and juniors Joe Davis and Anthony Nolfi were the top performers on the afternoon.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Purple and Gold men’s track and field team received 84 points in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Preseason Poll. Defiance earned a second-place finish at last year’s outdoor championship meet and the voters gave it the best chance to knock off Rose-Hulman, who has recorded five consecutive HCAC Outdoor Championships.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – It was a big weekend for the Yellow Jacket men’s track and field squad at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The team came away in third place, notched three All-HCAC and three Second-Team All-HCAC performers and added the top male field athlete in the conference.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Yellow Jacket men’s track and field team members Tom Postema and Joe Davis each recorded a pair of first-place finishes and set one conference record at the 2013 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, February 16. FINDLAY, Ohio – In the first meet of the 2013 calendar year for the Defiance College men’s track and field team, several athletes displayed strong outings at the Northwestern Ohio Invite on Friday, January 18. Overall, the squad took first place in two events, while notching second in three.

For 2013, the conference believes history will repeat itself and has chosen DC for a third-straight runner-up finish.
ANGOLA, Ind. – The DC men’s indoor track and field squad continued its strong start to the 2012-2013 season, as it competed at the Trine Invitational on Friday, December 7. Many of the same names from last Saturday’s meet finished with high marks again, including junior Joe Davis who cruised to a new Jacket record in the 1,000 meter.
