LIVONIA, Mich. – The Defiance Yellow Jackets suffered their fourth straight loss (25-11, 25-16, 25-9) to the Madonna Crusaders on Wednesday night.
Madonna set the tone by jumping ahead to a 10-point lead in the first set before DC got on board. The second set saw Defiance lead the first half of the set and was ahead 12-10 before the Crusaders caught fire. After scoring seven straight, Madonna tipped the scales to win the second set and closed out DC with a dominant third set.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- As a team, the Yellow Jackets converted a season-low 20 points and had their first match hitting below .000 (-.045)
- It was also the third three-set loss that DC committed 20 attack errors or more.
- Sarah Hirschy and Jaelyn Tomoletz each had a team-high four kills.
- Madonna's Kira Buza had a match-high 18 kills.
