LIMA, Ohio - Nationally-ranked UNOH handed the Defiance Yellow Jackets an 18-0 defeat on Wednesday night at Racer Stadium, part of a full slate of conference games on Wednesday in the WHAC.
The Racers improved to 7-3 and 3-1 in league play, dropping the Jackets to 3-7-1 and 0-4 in conference.
The 18 goals by UNOH tied the Defiance record for the most allowed in a game, matching Ohio Northern on Oct. 7, 1997.
The Jackets held the Racers off the board until the 25th minute, which started a string of five goals in the span of two minutes. After posting nine goals in the last 21 minutes of the first half, UNOH pushed across nine more after halftime.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Racers outshot Defiance 54-3 with DC getting one shot on goal during the second half.
- Eleni Mucaki spent 72 minutes between the pipes before Audree Johnson served as the Defiance keeper for the last 15 minutes.
- UNOH saw three players score hatricks (Vivian Purmonen, Risa Nishida and Svenja Jorg) while two others scored twice. Their 18 goals came from nine different players.
