Brown wins high jump at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. - Defiance College freshman Jesse Brown won his third high jump event of the year at Friday's We Fly Challenge at Ball State University.

Brown was DC's lone entry in the event and competed alongside regional NCAA Division I and NAIA programs during the first day of the event at Briner Sports Complex. He cleared his first two jumps of 1.85 and 1.95 meters and faulted on his first two leaps of 2 meters before clearing his third to earn the top spot. He also had three tries at the NAIA B qualifying standard of 2.06 meters but was unsuccessful.

Brown's event victory was his third in three events during the outdoor season and brings his total event wins to 5 during his freshman indoor and outdoor seasons.
