DC Women's Cross Country earns academic award
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its annual Scholar Teams of the Year list and the Defiance College Women’s Cross Country Team was recognized with the honor.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its annual Scholar Teams of the Year list and the Defiance College Women's Cross Country Team was recognized with the honor.
Not only did the DC women excel on the cross country paths this fall, they did so in the classroom as well. To qualify for the award, a program must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school at each.
The Lady Yellow Jackets achieved the criteria with flying colors, having a cumulative GPA of 3.47. Every member of the team competed in at least five events for DC, the Lady Jackets include; Eme Miller, Brittney Holmes, Kyrsten King, Kelsey Bowling, Sadie Daeger, Marissa Bussard, Taylor Traut, Amanda Fooce, and Anna Prinkey.
