  • DC Women’s Harriers Acknowledged for Academic Aptitude

    NEW ORLEANS – For the second time in three years, the Defiance College women’s cross country team was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for its work in the class room. Defiance was one of 167 teams in the nation to receive 2010 Div. III All-Academic Cross Country status.

    GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its fall honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team with Defiance placing 20 student-athletes on the list. The 20 award winners give DC five more than its 2009 total and seven more than 2008.

    HOLLAND, Mich. – The women’s cross country team finished 25th in a 34-team field at the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional Championship in Holland, Mich. on Saturday. An average finishing time of 24:57.3 for the Jackets marked a 1:49 improvement over last year’s pace.
