Shanna Morris was announced as the first head coach of the Defiance College women's wrestling program in July 2025. Her first task as head coach is recruiting student-athletes for competition to begin during the 2026-27 season.

Morris comes to Defiance from Lourdes University after serving as an assistant coach for the Gray Wolves in 2024-25. Her work with the Lourdes women's wrestling team last year helped produce two NAIA All-Americans, including the second straight national title for Stefana Jelacic.  In addition to her role at Lourdes during that season, Morris also assisted the Toledo Rogers' High School wrestling program.

Before entering the coaching ranks, she enjoyed a successful college wrestling career. As the first female wrestler fro Marion Harding High School to compete at the college level, Morris was part of Tiffin University's first women's wrestling team in 2018. She reached the NCAA national competition in three of her four seasons with the Dragons before using her last season of eligibility as a graduate student at Lourdes in 2024. During that campaign, Morris reached her fourth-career nationals by qualifying for the 2024 NAIA women's wrestling national championships.

A Marion, Ohio native, Morris completed her bachelor's degree in business administration at Tiffin in 2022. She is currently finishing her master's in business administration at Lourdes.
