Porter Earns Back-To-Back HCAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, IND. - Sophomore Morgan Porter reigns as Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week announced Monday afternoon.

RICHMOND, IND. - Sophomore Morgan Porter (Defiance)reigns as Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week announced Monday afternoon.

The sophomore led the Purple and Gold to a 1-1 overall week averaging 7.33 digs per set, registering a season-best 37 digs in a five set thriller with Mt. St. Joseph. She finished the week with a combined 66 digs through nine sets.

Porter currently leads the HCAC in digs per set (5.96) and ranks 14th among the NCAA Division III, the highest of any HCAC athlete. 

Defiance returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 10 as they play host to area rival, Bluffton. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
