Anderson and Kalik Headline HCAC Selections

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Following a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Regular-Season Championship, several Yellow Jackets were selected to All-HCAC Teams.
Alicia Kalik (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) and Bree Anderson (Huntertown, Ind./Carroll) were both named to the All-HCAC Team. Meredith Shank (Maumee/Springfield) was named to both the All-Freshman team and the honorable mention All-HCAC team. Rebecca Kain (Orland, Ind./Prairie Heights) joined Shank as a honorable mention pick. Caroline Hesterman (Fort Wayne, Ind./North Side) added to the list of award recipients as a HCAC All-Sportsmanship team selection.
This is Kalik's third time being selected to the All-HCAC team. DC's all-time assists leader had yet another big year during her senior campaign finishing fourth in the HCAC in both assists (956) and assists per set (9.06). Kalik also added 257 digs on the year which put her second on the team in that category.
Anderson led DC on the net this season. She ranked fifth in the HCAC in kills per set, putting down 3.18 per set. Anderson led the team in kills with 293 on the year, while hitting a .243%. She came in second on the team in blocks with 53 total. The All-HCAC Team selection is the second consecutive for Anderson.
Shank was one of the most feared freshmen in the HCAC this season. She totaled 276 kills and averaged 2.63 kills a set, which placed her second on the team in both categories. She also added 30 blocks on the year.
Kain was a leader all season long in the back row for DC. Not only did she lead the team in digs with 539, she also ranked third in the HCAC. She dug-up over five balls a set this season and also added 14 aces.
Hesterman was a vocal leader for the Yellow Jackets on the court this season. She totaled 137 digs and 1.57 digs per set. She had 12 aces on the year as well.
