Steve Oberlin, in a second spell on the Defiance College Athletics staff, enters his first year as head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs since 2013.
Oberlin served in the same role from 2007-2013. Prior to taking over the duties of head coach, Oberlin was an assistant coach for the program in the 2006-07 seasons.
While at the helm, Oberlin guided the men's tennis team to three straight HCAC Conference Tournament appearances from 2009-2011.
Oberlin has many years of coaching experience under his belt at both the high school and collegiate levels. On top of a certification as a PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) Teaching Tennis Pro, Oberlin has extensive background in the tennis environment as he managed the Wauseon Health & Racquet Club from 2003-2011.
The Bryan, Ohio resident graduated with a degree in business management from Northwest State in 2007.
