DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 by Manchester University this afternoon at the Dix Tennis Facility in Defiance, Ohio.

In doubles action, Defiance dropped all three flights. Hannah Hesterman and Cayla Walker fell 8-1 at first doubles while AJ Breneman and Sydney Huston were defeated 8-4 at second doubles. Duo Mackenzie Combs and Courtney Alexander were also routed 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.

Hesterman went on to fall 6-0, 6-0 at first singles as Breneman dropped her match at second singles 6-0, 6-1. At third singles, Walker was beat 6-3, 6-3 while Alexander dropped her set at fourth singles 6-1, 6-0. DC went on to fall in fifth and sixth singles as Combs and Huston were trumped 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 respectively.

The Yellow Jackets are back on the courts next Wednesday, October 4 as they travel to Richmond, Indiana to take on Earlham College. First serve is set for 4:30 PM.
