DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. - The Defiance Yellow Jackets were sunk 4-0 at Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday as the Wolverines posted two late goals to seal the win.
The Yellow Jackets (3-8-1, 0-5 WHAC) held the Wolverines off the board (2-8-2, 1-3-1 WHAC) until the 23rd minute of the match. Both sides possessed the ball early and got off a handful of early shots. The Wolverines broke through with the only goal of the opening half when Nadia Saab got a shot past Redick.
UM-Dearborn went on to score three times in the second half, starting with Macy Burton in the 54th minute. The score stood 2-0 for most of the half until the Wolverines scored twice inside six minutes to create an additional cushion.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Defiance got eight shots off in the match but UM-Dearborn's keeper Julia Tasker was able to knock down all four attempts on frame.
- DC got Hannah Redick back in the lineup and the freshman keeper posted nine saves despite the loss.
- Tatum Oberhouser had a team-best five shots for Defiance, followed by Eleni Mucaki with two on goal.
- Defiance has lost five straight and dropped to 0-4 away from home.
