Yellow Jackets post program-best numbers in 12-0 victory over Andrews
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Tatum Oberhauser and the Defiance College Yellow Jackets women's soccer program put together a record-setting match in their 12-0 victory over Andrews University Monday night at Justin F. Coressel Stadium.
The team's 12 goals became a new program-high, defeating the previous record set back in 2019, also versus the Cardinals. Oberhauser contributed four scores, which tied the single-game individual program record. The freshman put up 12 shots-on-goal and took 15 shots total to set new single-game individual records in both of those categories, as well.
Freshman Rylie Myers began the scoring for the Purple and Gold in the 17th minute of the contest off an assist by freshman Baylee Ingle to mark the first goal and assist for either Yellow Jacket. Myers went on to end the game with an impressive hat-trick match after additional scores in the 32nd and 40th minutes of play. Her additional assists came from freshman Audree Johnson and junior Reagan Camp.
Oberhauser, who scored Defiance's first goal of the season against Great Lakes Christian on Aug. 23, tallied her second of the season, unassisted, at the 16:22 mark of the first period. The freshman followed up not two minutes later with another shot to the back of the net, assisted by sophomore Destiny Pier. The duo of Oberhauser and Pier got on the board again in the 35th minute. Pier matched the single-game assist record with two in the match.
In the 37th minute, Eleni Mucaki became the third freshman of the match to earn a goal as an assist from sophomore Creedance Chittenden set her up for success.
The Yellow Jacket offense didn't slow down in the second period. Sophomore Mariah Crisp took advantage of a good look 10 minutes into the half to score the first goal of her collegiate career to put Defiance on top 8-0, which was assisted by Johnson. Johnson's second assist additionally tied the women's soccer program's single-game assist record, while Crisp recorded her second goal.
Camp and Johnson got in on the action with unassisted goals in the 60th and 66th minutes, respectively, for their firsts of the season and each of their inaugural scores since joining the DC program. Oberhauser closed out the scoring in the 82nd minute with her fourth of the day.

Myers and Oberhauser each earned hat tricks, which has only been achieved eight other times in program history, and most recently, twice in September 2023.

Defiance's 11 corner kicks notched a new single-game team record. The previous record was 10.

Creedence Chittenden, Crisp, Camp, and Baylee Ingle also achieved assists in the match, all of which were the firsts of each of their collegiate careers at Defiance.

Keeper Hannah Redick moved to 2-3 on the season having faced one shot on goal with a save.
