Women's soccer set to kick off fall season
The Defiance women’s soccer team is set to kick off the 2021 season with an away match at Andrews University on Sept. 1.

The Coach: Defiance is led by BJ Pheasant who is in his third year leading the program. Pheasant previously served as an assistant coach and interim head coach before taking the reins completely in January of 2020. He was also a member of the coaching staff at Thomas More College that earned the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Region Coaching Staff of the Year award. There his team reached the NCAA Sweet 16.
The Players: The top returning players for the Yellow Jackets are junior midfielders, Ally Enneking and Brianna Snider.
Enneking appeared in 16 games with 15 starts and scored five goals along with a pair of assists in 2019. Snider also appeared in 16 games in 2019, adding four goals and an assist.
Defiance also welcomes an exciting group of newcomers who will look to impress and contribute during their first collegiate campaigns.
The Schedule: The schedule features 19 games for the 2021 season. Defiance will play each of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schools and 10 non-conference opponents. After opening on the road at Andrews, the Yellow Jackets will host Madonna University on Fri. Sept. 3 at 3:00 p.m. HCAC contests will be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
