Perry Earns HCAC Offensive Player of the Week

CARMEL, Ind. - Defiance College women's soccer senior Lauren Perry (Northwood / Lake) scored her way to conference recognition this past week. Perry lands the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor for week two of the 2019 season. 

The Northwood, Ohio native tallied a hat-trick on Wednesday in an emphatic 11-0 away victory over Andrews University while also tallying an assist. The senior's stellar week continued on Sunday when she scored yet another goal in a 4-0 defeat of Penn St.-Beaver. 

Perry's four goals this season currently land her in a tie for first in the HCAC while she also lands on the conference shots chart with 13 on the year. 

Perry's efforts helped propel DC women's soccer to a 2-1-1 start to the season and the first pair of back-to-back wins since 2014. 

The Purple and Gold will return to action Tuesday, September 10, as they travel to St. Mary's for a 7:00 pm kickoff.
