DC comes in 11th through weekend tournament

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Defiance College Yellow Jackets women's golf team opened its season in the Red Wolf Fall Invite at the Highland Lakes Golf Course this weekend, hosted by Indiana East. DC completed the 36-hole tournament 11th out of 13 teams with an overall score of 748.

Friday's round one featured a 371 and the eight Yellow Jacket competitors headed into Saturday in 10th. Defiance shot slightly better in round one, leading to its fall to complete the invite. 

Freshman Magen Hines came in 45th place to lead DC's golfers overall. She shot 34 over par 178. Another freshman, Madison Gray, came in 50th with 39 over par 183. Sophomore Paige Yazzie improved on day two by two strokes and finished 53rd with 42 over par 186 performance.

UP NEXT

Defiance will head back to Richmond, Ind. Sept. 13-14 for the Forest Hills Fall Invite at the Forest Hills Country Club.
