Women's Basketball finishes D1 weekend with trip to Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Defiance Yellow Jackets completed their second exhibition game of the weekend against a Division I opponent and suffered a 118-35 defeat to the Bowling Green Falcons at the Stroh Center on Sunday.
The Falcons set a Stroh Center record with 118 points in the victory with the facility in its 15th season. It was also BG's fourth straight victory.
Playing the nearest D1 team to Defiance, the proximity to home did not transfer for DC as the Yellow Jackets shot 17.5 percent from the floor compared to 51 percent by BGSU. Out of 11 made field goals, Lorena Caparros led the team with four buckets and accounted for 1 of 2 team 3-pointers. Alongside Caparros' 11 points, Shaunie Little also had 11 points with the help of 7 free throws. Little also had a team-high 8 rebounds, as did Jourdyn Wynn.
Defiance also saw three players foul out of the game, which helped put the Falcons on the charity stripe 29 times and made 24 attempts.
