Women's basketball announces 2021-22 schedule

The Defiance women's basketball program has announced its schedule for the 2021-22 season which includes four home games at the Karl H. Weaner Center to open the season. 

The season will tip-off on November 8 when the Yellow Jackets host Adrain at 7:30 p.m. Defiance will then host Bryant & Stratton College on November 13, Ohio Wesleyan on November 17, and St. Mary's College on November 20. After three road matchups against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foes Mount St. Joseph (November 24), Manchester (December 1), and Franklin (December 4), the Yellow Jackets will host an HCAC game against Hanover on December 11 and a non-conference tilt against Hiram on December 14. The squad will finish the 2021 calendar year with an away contest at Kalamazoo on December 16. 

The Yellow Jackets will begin the 2022 portion of their schedule on New Year's Day when they host Heidelberg. The January slate will also include home games against HCAC rivals Bluffton (January 5), Anderson (January 12), Franklin (January 22), and Mount St. Joseph (January 26). Defiance will also travel to Transylvania (January 8), Rose-Hulman (January 15), Earlham (January 19), and Hanover (January 29) during the month.

In February the Purple and Gold will host home games against Manchester (February 2), Transylvania (February 5), Rose-Hulman (February 12), and Earlham (February 15). The Yellow Jackets will travel to Anderson on February 9 and close out the regular season against Bluffton on the road on February 18. 

The first round of the HCAC Tournament will take place on February 20.  

The Yellow Jackets are led by head coach Allan King Jr. who is in his fourth year leading the program.
