GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its winter honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team, with Defiance placing 17 student-athletes on the list. The 17 award-winning athletes rank DC second in the conference.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Defiance College women’s basketball program landed three players on the 2013 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball All-HCAC Teams. Kim Comden and Erica King received the nod for First Team All-HCAC recognition for the second consecutive season and Megan Zachrich received Honorable Mention All-HCAC honors.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Defiance College women’s basketball team traveled to Lexington, Ky. to face Manchester University in the first round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday evening. The Jackets were unable to overcome its shooting woes in the first half, as DC was eliminated by a final of 48-32.
FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Yellow Jacket women basketball program wrapped up its regular season on Saturday afternoon with a tough road test at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s second place team, Franklin College. The Purple and Gold fought the Grizzlies to the final horn, but came up just short of obtaining the road upset, as DC lost by a final score of 61-56.

The Yellow Jackets recorded their worst shooting performance of the year and lost by a score of 62-47.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – After a poor first half, the Yellow Jackets dug in on the defensive end of the floor and came away with a 57-50 win over Rose-Hulman in Defiance’s home regular season finale on Saturday afternoon. The Jackets managed to outscore the Engineers 37-19 in the second stanza.
RICHMOND, Ind. – The Defiance College women’s basketball program clinched its fourth-consecutive spot in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday evening in a 58-47 win at Earlham.

CINCINNATI – The Yellow Jacket women’s basketball team earned a hard-fought win over Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Mount St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon. The Purple and Gold outscored the Lions 39-29 in the second half to capture a 74-72 win.

HANOVER, Ind. – The Yellow Jacket women’s basketball team traveled to Hanover to take on the Panthers in a pivotal rematch of one of the best games in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference this season. DC won the first meeting on December 8 in an 85-80 overtime thriller. The Jackets were unable to complete the season sweep on Saturday, as Hanover pulled out an 88-76 win over DC.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The DC women’s basketball team extended its home winning streak to seven games on Wednesday evening with a 66-57 win over Earlham College. The Jackets used a 41-point second half to record the come-from-behind victory, as the Purple and Gold outscored the Quakers by 16 in the final frame.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Yellow Jacket women’s basketball team continued its dominating play inside the Hive on Saturday against Mount St. Joseph, as the Purple and Gold used a strong second-half performance to coast to a 70-55 victory. Former All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference performer, Kim Comden recorded a new career-high in scoring with 25 points.
