DC Powerlifting announces Fall 2025 schedule
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College powerlifting team announced its fall semester schedule ahead of the program's inaugural season, the Athletic Department announced on Tuesday.
The first half of the season includes one competition weekend per month throughout the fall semester. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Appleton, Wisc. for the program's first-ever event against college programs from around the Midwest. In October, the team heads west to Las Vegas before a trip east to Pittsburgh in November. The last competition for the first half of the year will take place in Columbus among teams from around the state of Ohio.
The Yellow Jackets will have the opportunity to set the bar during the program's first season, and will do so against top-tier competition from around the country. Some notable opponents entered in these competitions include Pittsburgh, Penn State, Carnegie Mellon, Kent State, Akron, West Virginia and other prominent schools.
Powerlifting is the first of five new programs that will begin competition over the next two years. Women's bowling starts their season later in September while men's volleyball kicks off in January. Women's flag football and wrestling are actively recruiting for their 2026-27 launch.

The fall schedule is full of great opportunities, such as Midwest Regionals in Appleton, the Pittsburgh Collegiate Cup, and the Olympia in Las Vegas! This will allow our athletes to compete against top competition and to qualify for Collegiate Nationals in the spring. The Collegiate Cup, in particular, will be an exciting opportunity for our lifters to compete against large, well-known universities."
