Bio

Carter Kroll joined the Defiance College men's wrestling staff in August 2025. Kroll comes to Defiance after finishing his college career at Lourdes University where he was teammates with fellow DC coach Noah Clary.

Kroll wrestled at Lourdes from 2021-25 as a 197-pounder and had a decorated career with the Gray Wolves. He went 56-41 for his college career, qualified for the NAIA National Championships three times and was the WHAC 197-pound individual champion as a senior in 2025. He was also honored three times as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and a two-time WHAC Champion of Character. 

He is a native of Ontario, Ohio near Mansfield and was a four-year letterwinner for the Ontario Warriors. Kroll held a career record of 129-40 and qualified for state twice, which included a sevent-place finish in 2021. He also won three Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championships and was a district qualifier four times.

Kroll is also a wrestling referee and has officiated several national-level events such as the Senior Freestyle World Team Trials in 2025. Kroll finished his bachelor's degree in sport management at Lourdes in 2025.
