Spinks is Named HCAC Field Athlete of the Week
GREENWOOD, IND. - Defiance College men's track and field participant Darius Spinks (Washington, Pa. /Washington) has been named this week's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Spinks was named HCAC Track Athlete of the Week last week.

Spinks broke the school record in the long jump this past weekend at All-Ohio DIII Championships at Otterbein University. The freshman leapt the distance of 23' 6.75" for a first-place finish. His effort is the top mark in the HCAC this season and also the third farthest jump in NCAA DIII this indoor campaign.
Spinks and the rest of the Yellow Jackets will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 21 when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the HCAC Indoor Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
