Parrett, Wilson, and Sarfino compete at DI level

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – While most the DC Track and Field Team was off for the weekend, Troy Parrett, Micah Wilson, and Maggie Sarfino traveled to Butler University to compete in the Stan Lyons Invite. [Results]

The meet not only featured DI Butler, but also DI powerhouses like Marquette and Xavier.

Parrett (Cedarville, Ohio / Cedarville) showed he belonged in a big way.  He ran away with the 800-meter run, finishing with a time of 1:53.23, nearly three seconds ahead of the runner-up.  That is the 29th fastest time in NCAA DIII this season.

Wilson (Mims, Fla. / Astronaut) also proved that she had the right to run against DI level schools.  She won the 100-meter and 200-meter races.  She ranks 34th in DIII now with a 12.26.  She won the 200-meter race with 25.57, winning by more than a second.

In the triple jump, Sarfino (Mims, Fla. / Astronaut) finished second.  Her distance of 10.39 meters was good enough for the two spot.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action at the Dr. Keeler Invitational.  The May 9 and 10 event will be held in Naperville, Ohio.
