Postema Finishes 12th in Weight Throw at NCAA Nationals
GRINNELL, Iowa – Defiance College junior Tom Postema competed in the weight throw during the first day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships being held in Grinnell, Iowa. Postema took 12th place with a toss of 55-11.00.

Postema entered the competition seeded eighth with a mar k of 62-04.81. The junior thrower opened the event with what would be his final mark of 55-11.00, and narrowly missed All-American honors. Postema currently holds the Defiance College and Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships records for the weight throw.
Tyler Genovese of Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the national title with a throw of 65-07.75.
Postema, the HCAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, will continue his bid to be an All-American when he competes in the shot put on Saturday, March 10th at 1:00 pm Eastern. He enters the shot put seeded ninth with a distance of 54-05.54.
