Trivett entered the season as the conference's reigning pole vaulting champ after claiming the individual title last spring, and backed up that title by taking top honors at the 2011 Indoor Championships with a clearance of 14-11.00 (4.55 meters).
The Defiance High School product claimed the first individual high jump title of his collegiate career as well, clearing a personal-record 6-05.50 (1.97 meters) as he moved into sixth place on DC's all-time performances list. Trivett went on to place sixth in the long jump with a mark of 19-11.50 (6.08 meters), giving him 23 of Defiance's 100 points at the meet.
With the indoor championships in the books, Trivett will now set his eyes on a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault, which at 15-5.00 is just two inches above his indoor personal record.
Trivett and the Yellow Jackets will return the campus of Anderson University on Saturday to compete in the Fred Wilt Memorial Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
