NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The 2011 outdoor track and field season came to an end on Friday for Defiance College, with Aaron Demecs, Justin Perkins and Austin Trivett scoring top-10 finishes at North Central’s Gregory Invitational.
HANOVER, Ind. – The men’s track and field team finished fourth at the 2011 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. Rose-Hulman won the championship meet with 226.50 points, while Franklin (123), Manchester (88.5), Defiance (80) and Anderson (74) rounded out the top five.
ADRIAN, Mich. – The men’s track and field team shook up its record books at the Adrian College All-American Invitational on Saturday. Three different Yellow Jacket runners turned in All-Ohio qualifying performances in the 1,500-meter run at the meet.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s track and field team garnered 102 points in a third-place showing at the Yellow Jacket Open on Friday. Austin Trivett and Justin Perkins each posted conference-leading marks in DC’s last home meet of the season.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Justin Perkins broke his own school record in the 5,000-meter run, and the men’s track and field team defended its title at the Dick Small Invitational on Saturday. The Jackets earned 191.50 points to take top honors in their first meet of the 2011 outdoor season.
ANDERSON, Ind. – The Yellow Jackets placed second at the inaugural Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, held at Anderson University on Saturday. Defiance garnered 100 points on the day, and saw Austin Trivett honored as the Most Outstanding Field Athlete.
GAMBIER, Ohio – The men’s track and field team placed 13th with 15.50 points in the Div. III Indoor All-Ohio Championships at Kenyon College on Saturday. Defiance saw seven of its athletes receive Indoor All-Ohio honors, and broke a school record in the distance medley relay for the second-straight year.
ANGOLA, Ind. – The men’s track and field team finished second at the Trine Invitational on Friday, collecting 159.75 points at the event and falling just 2.50 points shy of the hosting school. Seth Bidlack broke DC’s school record in the 500-meter dash, crossing the line in 69.16 seconds.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s indoor track and field team was picked to finish second in the inaugural Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, released by the league office on Tuesday. Defiance also had five athletes selected as HCAC Preseason Athletes-to-Watch.
