DC Has Four Earn All-Ohio Recognition
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s track and field team finished 12th with 14 points at the 2009 All-Ohio Indoor Championships on the campus of Otterbein College. DC has now had ten athletes earn All-Ohio honors over the past two years.

Brad Zarembski topped the Jackets with a second-place finish in the high jump. The two-time All-Ohio Outdoor Champion cleared a season-best 6-06.00, before narrowly missing at 6-07.75. Zarembski has earned All-Ohio honors at each of the past four championship events.
Austin Trivett, the only member of the men's team to compete in multiple events, recorded a sixth-place finish in the pole vault. The Defiance, Ohio native cleared 13-11.25 on his second attempt to end up in a four-way tie for third, before falling to sixth based on attempts.
Sprinters Ryan Perry and Blake Witherspoon each earned All-Ohio recognition in the 55m dash. The two finished side-by-side in prelims, running times of 6.60 and 6.61 to qualify fifth and sixth. In the finals, Witherspoon crossed the line in 6.64 to edge Perry's time of 6.67.
Defiance will be back in action next Saturday, February 21, when it competes in the Hoosier-Buckeye Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. on the campus of Rose-Hulman. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 2:00 p.m.
