GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its Track and Field awards last week, as Defiance College had 12 athletes earn individual recognition following their performances at the 2009 HCAC Championships.
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s track and field team tallied 91 points at the 2009 HCAC Championships, finishing third at the meet for the second consecutive season. The Jackets won three event titles, marking the ninth-straight year at least one DC athlete claimed an individual crown.
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Justin Perkins claimed Defiance’s lone event crown on the opening day of the 2009 HCAC Championships, helping the Jackets total 20 points through the first six events. The Jackets should see that total grow, as a number of their top-ranked athletes are set to compete in the finals tomorrow.
N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – Austin Trivett and Brad Zarembski each garnered event crowns at the Spartan Classic on Saturday, helping the Jackets post ten top-five performances on the day. The meet, which was held on the campus of Manchester College, did not record team scores.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s track and field team opened up its outdoor season with an impressive showing at the 14th-annual Dick Small Invitational. The Jackets used several versatile performances to rack up 130 points on their way to a third-place finish.
GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Defiance College track and field team set two school records at the DePauw Indoor Qualifier on Friday, March 6, adding to its ongoing reconstruction of the DC record book. The Jackets had a number of event winners at the meet, which did not record team scores.
ADA, Ohio – The Defiance College track and field team saw seven school records fall at the Joe Banks Invitational on the campus of Ohio Northern University. The men’s squad broke four records on its way to a fifth-place finish, while the women’s team set three school marks before finishing fifth as well.
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Blake Witherspoon won a pair of events to help the Defiance College men’s track and field team finish second at the Hoosier-Buckeye Invitational on the campus of Rose-Hulman. The Jackets racked up 110.50 points in the meet, trailing only the host Engineers.
UPLAND, Ind. – The Defiance College men's track and field team competed in the Taylor Invitational on Saturday, February 7. The Jackets had several athletes qualify for the All-Ohio Indoor Championships at the meet, which did not record team results.
FINDLAY, Ohio – The Defiance College track & field team wrapped up its first indoor meet of 2009, participating in the very competitive Findlay Classic. The meet, which did not record team scores, hosted a 2008 Olympic Medalist as well as a handful of Olympic Trials competitors.
