Defiance Topples Shawnee State
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College men’s tennis team toppled Shawnee State on Saturday morning at the George M. Smart Center by a score of 6-3.
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College men's tennis team toppled Shawnee State on Saturday morning at the George M. Smart Center by a score of 6-3.
The Yellow Jackets were led in the contest by senior Adam Swisher (Bedford, Mich.) winning one singles by a score of 6-1, 6-2. He also teamed up with freshman Jared Schnee (Bellevue) to capture one doubles, 8-2.
Schnee also claimed his number two singles by a score of 6-1, 6-3, while senior Eline Widman (Tiffin) captured three singles in a tie breaker 6-4, 4-6 (11-9). The Purple and Gold also took four singles in a tie break by a score of 7-8 (7-5), 4-6, 10-4.
Defiance claimed the match at two doubles as senior Nathan Principe (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Snider) and Widman won the match-up 8-6.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Wednesday, March 28 at 4:00 p.m. as they host Concordia (Mich.).
