Early Lead Sinks Men's Tennis

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Defiance College men's tennis team fell on day two of its spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. falling to Albion College 7-2 Tuesday afternoon.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Defiance College men's tennis team fell on day two of its spring break trip in Hilton Head, S.C. falling to Albion College 7-2 Tuesday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (1-5 overall) were led in the match by the doubles combination of juniors Ring Lardner (Milford, Del.) and Henry Brown (Ripon, England/Outwood Academy of England) winning at number three doubles 8-5.

Albion claimed number one doubles 8-4 before taking number two doubles 8-0.

In singles action, Brown led the way capturing the six singles victory 7-6 (5), 4-6, and claiming the tie breaker 10-7. However, Albion would sweep singles 1-5 to capture the 7-2 win.

Defiance returns to action Thursday, March 8 as they take on Shenandoah.
