HOWELL, Mich. - DC men's soccer completed the road portion of their season on Wednesday night with a 9-1 loss to the Cleary Cougars at Lake Trust Stadium.
The Yellow Jackets (2-14-1, 1-9 WHAC) were held off the board for 87 minutes and were outscored 9-0 through that time until Ilan Nathan connected on his first-career goal.
The Cougars (11-6-0, 5-5 WHAC) cemented their place in the WHAC Tournament with the win. They scored in pairs all evening starting with two goals just three minutes apart in the 13th and 16th minutes. The lead swelled to 4-0 by the 25th minute and to 6-0 just before halftime with two scores in the 42nd minute. After the half, Cleary pumped in three more goals and finished the match with 38 shots to four by Defiance.
