DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance Yellow Jackets were sunk 6-0 in a conference match against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on Saturday at Winsper Knobel Memorial Field.
Starting keeper Jacob Goldsberry held the Blue Devils at bay for the first 15 minutes. Lawrence Tech struck first during the 16th minute on a broken play that left the net vulnerable. The Blue Devils another another goal two minutes later and a third score with 7 minutes before halftime.
DC swapped keepers in the second half, turning to Tyler Harper off the bench. He made several stops as well but the Blue Devils knocked in three more goals before completing the shutout.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The loss dropped Defiance to 0-3 in the WHAC.
- The 6-0 result was also the sixth shutout defeat of the season for DC.
- Defiance was outshot 25-6 and also saw Lawrence Tech take 15 corner kicks.
- Oscar Olivier took a team-best two shots for the Jackets.
