BEREA, OHIO -- The Defiance men's soccer team dropped their second straight road contest as they fell to Baldwin Wallace, 3-1, on Saturday night.
Defiance was outshot, 7-2, in the opening half of play, as BW scored the only goal of the period off the foot of Danny Ruple to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Junior Nick Starosta (Wixom, Mich./Walled Lake Western) scored Defiance's lone goal early in the second half off of a free kick to tie the contest at 1-1. Baldwin Wallace went on the attack, taking two quick shots before Bryce Posner scored on a rebound opportunity to give BW a 2-1 lead. They continued to pouro n the pressure as Ruple scored his second goal of the night, this one in the 59th minute, to give BW a 3-1 lead, which would be the final score.
Baldwin Wallace outshot Defiance, 22-5, in the victory, as junior keeper Clay Musgrave (Upper Sandusky) made five saves in the loss for DC.
The Yellow Jackets return to action with their final non-conference tuneup of the season, as they travel to Greenville, Pa. to take on the Thiel College Panthers. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
