Drake and Hester Named Academic All-Ohio

DEFIANCE, OHIO  --  Defiance College men's soccer players Jordan Drake (Maumee/Springfield) and Trevor Hester (Liberty Center/Monclova Christian Academy) have been selected third-team Academic All-Ohio by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA).  [Academic All-Ohio Teams]

Both players were also named to the Academic All-Heartlance Collegiate Athletic Conference Teams following the conclusion of the 2015 season.  To be eligible to be named Academic All-Ohio, candidates must maintain a minimum of a 3.20 gpa.

Drake carries a 3.90 grade point average in athletic training.  He ended his senior campaign with a pair of goals and assists for six total points and finished tied for third on the team in points.  One of his goals scored came on a penalty kick to finish the season with a perfect one-for-one in that category.  He played in all 18 games, including 15 starts, and took 18 shots with nine shots on goal.

Hester was selected to the team with a 3.93 gpa in accounting.  Hester started all 18 games this past fall as a defenseman and took six shots, including two shots on goal.  He did not record any goals or assists, but was part of a defense that posted a shutout victory and allowed 2.18 goals per game.
