Walford snags final WHAC Men's Golfer of the Week Award of the season
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Defiance College sophomore golfer Jordan Walford (Thunder Bay, Ontario/St. Patrick) was named WHAC Men's Golfer of the Week following his spring championship victory, the conference announced on Monday.
Walford was the first Yellow Jacket golfer to win a conference title since 2016 and the fourth in program history. Through the 54-hole event, Walford finished even par with a tournament total of 216 highlighted by his lowest college competition round of 70 to open play in the first round. His 216 set a new 54-hole program record while helping the team to a 4th-place finish on the team leaderboard. With last week's victory at the conference championship, Walford qualified for the NAIA National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Illinois on May 12-15.
Walford is the second DC golfer to win WHAC Men's Golfer of the Week in 2025-26 and the 16th different Defiance student-athlete to garner a weekly award from the conference this school year.
