Gutierrez Named the HCAC Men's Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, IND. - Defiance College freshman golfer, Federico Gutierrez (Queretaro, Mexico) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's golfer of the week announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

The freshman led the Yellow Jackets this past weekend at the A.C. Eddy Invitational hosted by Trine University at Zollner Golf Course. Gutierrez led the field of 42 golfers as he claimed meadlist honors shooting a season-best 69 strokes. The event also featured 25 golfers from the great lakes region. 

Heading into the final week of play, Gutierrez is currently averaging 73.4 strokes per round, 1.50 above par.

The Purple and Gold return to action on Wednesday, April 17 as they travel to Lourdes University. Tee time is set for 10:00 a.m.
