Esports falls in close match to Bethel in Super Smash Bros. debut

DEFIANCE, Ohio – In the program's debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Defiance College esports fell, 3-2, to Bethel University (Indiana) in a close Great Lakes Esports Conference match on Saturday afternoon.

Defiance was led by Christian Rennie, who finished with three stocks. Noelani Schmidt and Tyler Taylor had two stocks each for the Yellow Jackets.

The match was also the first in Super Smash Bros. for Bethel.

DC is expected to compete in more Smash Bros. competitions in GLEC play this fall.
