Bedan Headed to "The Happiest Place on Earth"

DEFIANCE, OHIO – Defiance College Senior Cheer and Dance Team member Emma Bedan (Cincinnati / McAuley) will find herself embarking on an experience of a lifetime alongside hundreds of other college students from the United States and around the globe in August 2019. The senior heads south to live and work at "The Happiest Place on Earth" as a participant in the highly sought after Disney College Program at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The Disney College Program (DCP) is a truly unique internship program that allows participants to work and network with business leaders in a Fortune 500 company, take part in personal and career development classes, and provides time to develop problem solving, teamwork, guest services, and effective communication skills.

After hearing about the amazing opportunity, Bedan an Education Studies major and Disney enthusiast, jumped at the chance to apply. The Cincinnati native successfully completed a three step hiring process which included an online application, a web based interview, and a phone interview with a Disney recruiter. Emma said, "Receiving the life changing 'Congratulations! YOU'VE BEEN ACCEPTED!' email was a dream come true."

Orlando will be Emma's home away from home from August 2019 to January 2020. Emma stated that "I am very excited to have been chosen to be part of the Disney College Program. I look forward to creating memorable experiences for Disney guests during my time in Florida."

Emma's mother Jennifer Bedan is thrilled that Emma has been accepted to the Disney College Program. She stated that "Emma has always enjoyed all things Disney and looks forward to hearing about the friendships, unique experiences, and magical memories Emma will create during this experience."

Emma will graduate from Defiance College in May. One chapter will close but another adventure is right around the corner. She will continue to live by her favorite Walt Disney quote, "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them."
