ADRIAN, Mich. - The Defiance Yellow Jackets scored double-digit runs twice on Tuesday but were outpaced on offense in both contests by the Siena Heights Saints, 14-13 and 13-10, at the Siena Heights Baseball Diamond.
The Yellow Jackets (14-27, 7-13 WHAC) dropped to a 3-way tie for ninth place in the WHAC standings while the Saints (12-27, 8-12 WHAC) jumped into a tournament spot with the sweep.
Game 1 - Siena Heights 14, Defiance 13
DC jumped ahead 4-0, 8-4 and 13-9 to see the Saints rally on all 3 occasions. The Saints matched DC's 4-run first and used a 4-run fourth to tie the game 9-9. Connor Gephart started a 4-run sixth with a solo home run before Siena Heights' Jack Semler cut that lead in half with a 2-run blast in the home half of the inning. The Jackets held the lead 13-11 entering the bottom of the seventh, but Siena Heights had one more rally with four singles that led to a walk-off sacrifice fly by Semler.
Game 2 - Siena Heights 13, Defiance 10
The Yellow Jackets held an early lead with a second 4-run first inning that led to a 9-6 after 3 innings. The Saints chipped away with a pair in the fifth before grabbing the lead in the sixth. In the eighth, Hayden Kanagy cut the 2-run deficit in half with an RBI single but Siena Heights extended the lead to 3 runs with a 2-run single in the bottom of the inning.

- Over the last 4 games, the Yellow Jackets have scored 59 combined runs on 60 base hits.
- Aside from 27 total on Tuesday, the Jackets also drew 15 walks and 8 hit by pitch.
- Hayden Kanagy continued his offensive tear with a 3-hit and 4-hit game during the twin bill. He finished with a double in each game, 2 RBIs and 7 total hits to boost his hitting streak to 11 games. He also swiped 6 bases across the doubleheader.
- Connor Gephart also prospered in a 4-hit game in Game 2 following a multi-hit game in Game 1. He went 6-for-9 with a double, home run and 4 RBIs.
- Bradyn Shaw was the third Yellow Jacket to have a pair of multi-hit games and went 5-for-9 with 3 RBIs.
- Devon Crouch enjoyed his second 3-hit game in a row during Game 2.
- The catcher's spot had strong games. Logan Hudson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in Game 1 followed by Jayden Stechschulte's 2-for-6 showing in Game 2.
