Ambrose and Killam tabbed HCAC Players of the Week
CARMEL, Ind. - Seniors Jordan Ambrose and Orry Killam earned weekly honors from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Ambrose was named football Offensive Player of the Week and Killam was named the men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
This is the second straight year Ambrose has earned the honor and Killam's third honor by the conference in his career.
Ambrose was responsible for four of Defiance's five touchdowns in Saturday's loss at Kalamazoo and accounted for 489 of 663 total offensive yards in the game. Jordan completed 72 percent of his passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns and also led the team in rushing yards for the second consecutive week with 120.
Defiance football is off this week and opens conference play September 30 at Hanover.
Killam helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a 1-0-1 week. The senior goalkeeper made five saves against Concordia and 15 against Oberlin, giving him 20 saves during the week for an average of ten per game. In total, he faced 24 shots on goal which gives him a save percentage of 0.83 for the week.
Orry is currently leading the HCAC and all of Division III with 57 saves.
The men's soccer team is back in action tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. against Hiram.
