LEXINGTON, KY. - Sophomore Mariah Huff (Galloway/Mogadore) and junior Jackie Hartman (Parma/Padua Franciscan) earned All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Team honors for their performances this past weekend.
Huff finished the weekend batting .333 with three hits and two RBI on nine at-bats. She led DC to the opening round victory over Manchester as she smashed a walk-off double to right center propelling the Yellow Jackets to the 4-3 win.
Hartman also posted a strong performance at the dish for the Purple and Gold as she registered a .375 batting average with three hits, two RBI and a double. She also recorded eight putouts at second base with four assists for a .923 fielding percentage.
The Purple and Gold advanced to the semi final round of the HCAC Tournament before following to Transylvania. Defiance concluded the season with a 23-14 overall record and competed in its second consecutive Tournament.
