DC Post Strong Performance at All-Ohio

DELAWARE, OHIO - The Defiance College track and field teams compete at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon.

The men's team finished 15th in the 20 team field, while the women finished 19th overall.

Sophomore Vince Jackson led the way for DC finishing second in the high jump with a leap of 1.94 meters, earning All-Ohio honors.

As a team, DC registered seven personal records, five top ten finishes, and saw three individuals improve in the Defiance all-time top 10 list. 

In the hammer throw, senior Javier Castillo led the way finishing fifth overall with a toss of 49.82 meters, while senior Andrew Fahler took sixth place with a distance of 49.04 meters.

Castillo also found success in the discus throw finishing eighth overall with a throw of 41.96 meters.

Sophomore Spencer Ross took tenth in the Javelin throw with a distance of 39.75 meters.

The Purple and Gold return to action on Saturday, April 20 as they compete at Case Western.
