Men's Tennis Falls in Battle of Yellow Jackets

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Defiance College men's tennis team took on fellow Ohio institution Baldwin Wallace as part of the 2019 spring break trip on Wednesday afternoon. The Purple and Gold fell to BW 9-0. 

Baldwin Wallace proved strong on the doubles side of action. The pairing of Jared Schnee (Bellevue/Bellevue) and Ethan Harris (Huntertown, Ind./Carrol) fell to their Yellow Jacket opponents 8-0. Ring Lardner (Milford, Del./Milford) and Micaiah Cox (Ft. Recovery/Ft. Recovery) were able to take one game from BW, falling 8-1. 

In singles play, Schnee fought to a thrilling 7-6 drop of set one, before losing 6-1 in set two. Lardner was able to pick up one game win in each of his singles sets, falling 6-1, 6-1. 

Defiance will return to action Thursday, March 7, as they take on Spring Arbor. First serve is slated for 9:30 am.
