ADRIAN, Mich. – The men’s track and field team shook up its record books at the Adrian College All-American Invitational on Saturday. Three different Yellow Jacket runners turned in All-Ohio qualifying performances in the 1,500-meter run at the meet.

Freshman runner, Joe Davis, had the best meet of his young career. Davis set a personal record in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 1:59.40 to move into fourth place in the conference this season, and seventh place in school history. He also placed first among DC’s trio of All-Ohio qualifiers in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:06.56, which ranks third in the HCAC and fourth in school history. Ryan Perry and Aaron Demecs led the Yellow Jackets’ sprinters. The duo moved into fourth and fifth place in the HCAC’s 200-meter dash standings this season, with Perry crossing the line in 22.83 to claim a top-10 time on DC’s all-time performances list, and Demecs finishing just a quarter-step later at 22.88.

Defiance claimed two of the top-four pole vaulting performances at the meet. Tyler Anderson led the way with a clearance of 14-05.00, just a quarter-inch off his season-best, while Dan Hardin-Wallace moved into fifth place in the HCAC standings with a mark of 13-11.00.

Other notable performers included Jordan Weber, who placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.41, and Hayden Krick who took third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:09.74.
